Subject: Plea for help

I am a Nigerian golfer and I won the Open here in Nigeria but I can't get
the money out to America where I need to go for an operation. If any of you
fellow golfers will have pity on me, I will make it worth your while. For
just 70 cents of your money you will be paid back $1000. If you are
interested please send me $1000. I hit the golf ball 431 yds and I always
one putt. I am saying this so that we have something in common from what
your compassion will grow for a fellow golfer. We only have 17 holes here in
Nigeria and I plan to donate another hole thanks to you kind help.

This is, of course, a real plea.
FYI, word is that the preacher's wife who shot him in the back with a
shotgun was taken in by a Nigerian scheme and had advanced a few thousands
in return for checks of some $17,000 - maybe more - all of which, of course,
bounced. She was the next day to meet with bankers about it, and presumably
her husband hadn't yet found out.
Nice way to avoid embarassment.
If indeed she was intimidated by his cruelty, there is shared responsibility
for the 12 guage solution.
It wouldn't be the first husband who "got what he deserved" if that is the
case.
