My cynical views of organized religion and the events surrounding it are not
a personal attack on you. Hope you don't think it is.

Nope....not taken personally, so far. Just keep the name-calling of my
savior to a minimum, or not at all. I don't take it personally that
you don't believe. Please don't insult what is a core relationship in
my life, just like our wives/kids are with you and I.

Thanks!

If someone does not want to be criticized they probably should not run
around Jerusalem yelling "I am a messiah". Laying low and staying out of
trouble is a much better course of action, IMHO. *

* not that I take my own advice.

I thought that was the whole point of the messiah

Well, yeah. So he told everyone he was messiah; the Romans didn't like it;
and they had their meat-puppets take him down.

Mostly likely the temple priests didn't like Jesus calling himself the
Messiah and probably collaborated with the Romans to have their meat-puppets
arrest Jesus; which, by the records we have, was most likley what he was
trying to do. The Jewish people as a whole were upset that Jesus was a
generaly peaceful man and not a military leader like they thought the
prophesy of the Messiah had foretold - Just one of the reasons that most
Jews do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah.

The Romans hand picked the Temple Priests. The TP's were total
meat-puppets. They didn't have a single opinion of their own. If Caesar
wanted them to shit, they would ask "what color?"; and if he asked them to
jump, they would ask "how high?".

Don't believe that. Someone is filling you with a crock of shit. I spent
my whole childhood in Jewish Schools. Nobody cared what Messiah's demeanor
was - they just wanted Tanach flfilled.

I have similar cynical views in regards to whiny, syrupy public
apologies. Nothing personal.
