Subject: Pebble Beach -- made cut but no 4th round?
|
At Pebble Beach this past weekend, there were 15 players who made the cut but didn't play the 4th round. Why did that happen? I couldn't find any news coverage that explained it. Joshua Kreitzer gromit82@hotmail.com

You sure it's not because those pros and their amateur partners made the pro/am cut, but the pro himself didn't make the main tourney cut?

With the amateurs playing on Sunday, the field would be too big, so the low pros don't play and tie for last place. Four players at "E" received $11,825 Eleven players "plus 1" received $11,000 The fact that so many tied would lead you to believe that in spite of the "did not finish" quote, they never started the final round. -- Loudon R.
