One of three streaks will end on Sunday at The Masters: 1. No Aussie has ever won The Masters. If Stuart Appleby does it, he'll be the first. 2. Tiger has never won a major when he entered the final round without at least a share of the lead. 3. No one has won The Masters without playing in the final group on Sunday since Nick Faldo did it in 1990. One of those three streaks will end tomorrow. Randy

I'm thinking #2 is bound to end sometime. But it didn't happen today. Frankly, I'm not surprised Zach Johnson won the darn thing. Hell, he's already won on a course that looks a lot like and plays SOMEWHAT like Augusta National when he won the BellSouth Classic on the TPC at Sugarloaf. You guys never get to see the front nine on that course. But it resembles Augusta National A LOT!!! Randy

That mighty streak is about to end.

Other than those times when he's actually been *in* the lead himself, of course. Hazeltine in '02 I know he was near the leaders, and I think he was reasonably close at the British Open in '03. Others? Perhaps Pinehurst? He tends to be in the lead in majors if he's playing well, or back in the pack if he isn't. And a few times he has made a run from way back in the last round to get top five finishes, like Baltusrol a couple years ago. So it's probably a pretty safe bet that he will come nowhere close to Jack's record for second-place finishes in majors. DJJ
