Pretty poor. It's about 10% golf and 90% greg's business dealings. I could find no mention of Tiger in the entire book. And he's not listed in the index. Greg says jumbo ozaki is a big cheater. On page 143 is this quote - "What makes golf so thrilling is not so much the wins as the losses". Ever hear tiger or jack say anything like that?

Anyway, part of the reason i read greg's book was to see what greg thought about tiger and then he doesn't say a word about him!!!!!! I thing greg is kinda jealous. He had been the biggest draw in golf for 10- 15 years till tiger came along and then overnight greg became a nobody.

Greg is probably the most disappointing talent ever on the PGA tour. Not to mention probably the biggest choker of them all. As little respect as 'journeyman' Scott Hoch got back in those days, I'd put my money on Scott everytime in a head-to-head match with 'The Shark'. People criticise him for "only" winning two majors but he's an international player and you can't judge them by majors. I don't really like greg but he was a great great golfer. I'd prolly put him 4th on my all-time list after Sam, tiger, and jack.

I heard a story from a friend who was a tourney. A little kid approached Gregg for an autograph, supposidly he pushed the kid away & said no & the kid was in tears. I couple other pro's saw this & signed a ball for this kid. That & Greg played w/ a friend of friend. He also said Gregg liked his booze back in the day. It's just hard for me to like him after hearing negitive storys.

I was at the German Open in 1991, mainly because Tom Watson played that year and I wanted to see his game (he could strike a golf ball, by the way). Also playing the tournament that year was Hale Irwin, and Seve Ballesteros. Both Irwin and Ballesteros were pushing kids out of the way who were seeking autographs from them. This was after their repsective rounds were over and they were heading toward the clubhouse. Neither one of them played particularly well, so that may have had something to do with their attitudes (I almost got beaned by a wayward shot that Ballesteros hit OB), but that did not justify it in my mind. That year, Watson played the first two rounds with Bernhard Langer and an up and coming player whom I had never heard of. Later in the day, this player was on the putting green and I watched him for awhile. We got in to some conversation and I made a comment to him that it must have been tough playing with two ofgolf's biggest names. Turned out, he shot very respectable 3 under par that day. He also went on to represent Europe in the Ryder Cup. His name is Per-Ulrik Johansson. We talked for about 30 minutes and he told me that he played collegiate golf at Arizona State (played on the same team as Phil Mickelson). He was a very pleasant person. Tom Watson was the best, however. After his round and he had time to wind down, he went to an autograph area and signed his autograph for everyone who wanted one. He must have been there for 1 1/2 hours. Chatting it up with him was very cool and after seeing how Irwin and Ballesteros treated their fans, was a real fresh of breath air. David

I've only talked to 3 pros, except for the not famous guy I caddied for in the 60s, Randy Glover. He was pleasant and generous. One of my borthers played with John Daly in a pro am and I waled a few holes. John came up talked to me. He really is friendly, the most easy going and interested in people. Lee Jansen was pleasant too. I liked him better after talking a couple of seconds on a tee in at a pro am in Phoenix. Michelsen was just as nice. Actually, none of the guys who my pro played with in the 60s were dicks, all pretty friendly. I guess I was lucky.
