Subject: Non-Majors now Broadcasting in HD!!
This weekends Buick, I noticed, was broadcast in HD. Last year, only
the Majors and Ryder Cups were broadcast in HD.

Hope this continues through '07.

The Buick was the first of 23 tournaments scheduled to be carried in HD this
season:

Yeah, that's just great.

Not only can you see your favorite slack jawed mama's boy in all of his
HD glory, but you get to see every crater on his pock ked face too.

I hear HD is causing all kinds of trouble in the porn industry too.

HD cameras are picking up the bruises, pimples, appendix scars, razor
stubble, and open sores of the actors and actresses, that used to never
be seen with conventional video.

They said that all broadcasts on CBS this year will be in HD.

finchem announced this change for the better at the end of last year:

i'm hoping and praying that direcTV is in the process of inking a deal
with TGC so that we can have first two rounds as well in HD every week

I don't think TGC is doing HD yet.

Actually TGC's Buick coverage was in HD. Probably used the CBS
cameras. Found the following on another DB:

"Comcast Corp., the parent company of both the GOLF CHANNEL and VERSUS
(formerly
Outdoor Life Network), will launch a new high-definition channel in
early 2007 which will be shared by both networks. GOLF CHANNEL
programming on the new HD channel will begin Feb. 1 and showcase all
the
action from the PGA TOUR in high definition. To find out if you will
be
offered GOLF CHANNEL HD, check with your local cable or satellite
provider."

You might have to lobby your local cable company to get the TGC in HD.

Here in Port St. Lucie, FL I have Comcast and we do indeed have the GOLF
CHANNEL/VERSUS combo. I saw it this past Thurs/Fri in beautiful HD on
Versus.

However, on Sunday, the pretenders folded down the stretch in HD just like
they always did in Low-Def. Only now you can see them sweat.
