With the swing problems I have, the outside to in swing and a slightly open clubface at impact, I would like to know something. Yesterday I went to the range with a buddy and after hitting my driver with a small slice for most of the day, I hit his 8-10 times. Same swing, same grip, nothing changed except the ball went straight as hell. My driver is a Wilson Fireball, inexpensive but not bad for a beginner. His is an older model King Cobra. I know, quality plays a role in it. His is about two and a half inches longer than mine and feels lighter. His is also a Stiff flex where as mine is a mens flex. Why would his driver work for me so much better ?

Johnny Miller has a term, something like "works only one day". See if his driver works for you a couple of weeks from now before you make a decision or get to involved. Some pros don't know why some clubs work better. They just do. I'm not saying that's your case. It may be a simple matter of the shaft, although stiffer shafts encourage the ball curving to the right with right handed players ... right? experts ... With all of your emotional, fashion, and hygeine issues, you want to talk about the swing problem?

What degree is your driver & his? Alot of drivers are closed 1degree on 10+. Too many varibles w/ drivers, I hit EVERY driver differently & had a bunch. Different balls make a difference too. I can't hit any titlest ball off my driver with out hooking it. I would guess the shaft flex is the biggest varible.

If you were to have an astute observer watch closely from behind, I'll bet my Titleist blades your outside-in or open clubface habits had gotten better. It's probably a better fitting club. If you were to compare length, swingweight, overall weight, length, and reproduce the same characteristics in your driver you should see the benefits. This is why I'm very reluctant to call it a quality improvement, rather a fitting improvement. (Although anyone trying to sell that club will claim it's the club design) Dave
