Must be Tex's hero.

This Foley thing just gets better each day.
First it was because of alcohol. Then he was molested as a boy. Now he
admits to being gay.
Excuse after excuse. No personal responsibility. Typical Republican.

And what's up with Dennis Hastert? He covered it all up and is now
blaming the Democrats.
Yeah, right. It's that damned liberal media again, right Denny? One
story I read had a quote from his "spokesman." Now why does the
friggin Speaker of the House need a spokesman anyway?
Can't he speak?

If you had a brand new roll of toilet paper and wrote down just one
Republican scandal since 2000 per sheet, you wouldn't have enough
sheets left to wipe your ass!
And that includes 2-ply.

Hello Bert:

Representative Foley may be gone, but the "multipier effect" as it
pertains to who covered for him after his activites were disclosed over
a year ago remains. The House Of Representatives would be remiss if
they did not investigate this matter fervently.

Peace is better than aggression,

The investigation will not result in any actions that will prevent the
problem from reoccurring in the future. An investigation, a
Congressional investigation, is a vehicle used to assign blame for
political gain. The results of the Republican investigation will be to
have more oversight of the Page program. If the Democrats win the house
then they will blame former Speaker Hastert and former majority leader
Beohner and no other actions will occur. The investigation by the House
is a useless endeavor and a complete waste of time by either party.
However, if the FBI gets involved in the investigation then the
Democrats have more to worry about than the Republicans do. The mantra
what did the know and when did they know it will bite the Democrats in
the ass very hard. Pelosi's and Emanuel's reluctance to give testimony
under oath is very suspicious.

Seems to me it is not the Page program that requires oversight - it is
the members of the House, especially those on the GoP side. All this
fuss about what to do with the Page program, as though that is the
problem, is just so much blather in an attempt to deflect attention from
where it should be placed.

It is always amusing to see the neocons somehow manage to blame the
Democrats for their own catalogue of ethical and legal lapses. Still,
best to keep whistling in the dark.

There are enough problems on both sides of the aisle that casting blame
on on side is a act of partisanship.

The voters of the various districts will have to solve the problem(s)
because the Representatives work for them and not anyone else.

Who had $90,000 US in their freezer in frozen food containers? Where did
the money come from and who knew he had it and when did they know he had
it. Was Jefferson on the Commerce Committee? That would be ironic.

As I said earlier there is enough questionable activity occurring on
both sides of the aisle.

Sorry, but that simply is not the case at present. In the past few years
the overwhelming majority of wrongdoing is coming from the right. That
is not to say that this has always been, or will remain, the case, but
the fact is that as much as the right tries to deny it, they are up to
the neck in it at present.

Whether the electorate will see it that way is the question - recent
polls say they do - so the GoP would be better advised to stop trying to
push blame off onto the Democrats, and take a firm and honest stand at
putting their own house in order.

Billy, as an Engineer, you should understand something about
distributions. With a sample of one you indict the GOP?

Sorry, I forgot that your are not really an engineer, you are a "Dean".
An academic politico. Not really a whole lot different than Hastert
or Pelosi or Clinton for that matter.

Well, let's see, we have lost one Speaker of the House, one Leader of
the House, we have another Speaker in trouble, then there is the
Congressman in the middle of this mess, then we have two other
Congressmen who have already pleaded guilty in criminal cases, and we
have the Abramoff mess getting closer and closer to the White House by
the day.

More than a sample of one, I would say.

Aaaah, when in doubt, try the familiar Rove-ian sneer. Sorry, it doesn't
work any more.

Just as I noted, purely a political response. I called you on your

Are you saying that your are not an academic politico? That you really

Nonsense - you questioned my characterization of your GoP Congressman
friends, and I gave you a sheaf of additional examples of why it was not
the Page program that was the problem. Now you want to shift the goal
posts. How typical.

Very clever, but I am a fully licensed Chartered Engineer, have had
several million dollars in research funds, and can directly image atomic
arrangements in materials.

You?

Like I said, nice try, but pathetically lame.

No I am not what you condescendingly call "an academic politico"
(whatever that is). Actually I never was, but since you obviously have
absolutely no knowledge of the workings of a university, it doesn't
surprise me that you think so.

Quite right. I certainly can't image atomic arrangements in materials.
That is the old grade school, mine is bigger than yours bit.

that a segue into music and a half assed bit about a few trees what
contribution to the group have you made? What golf content discussion

So you are the self-appointed moderator of RSG, are you? I think that
job should fall to someone who is at least remotely qualified. This

Doesn't seem to me that too many Democrats blamed the GoP in the Studds
case, unlike the Republicans in the present one. 420-3? Pretty clear
evidence, I would say.

Yeah, he's an insult to gay alcoholics everywhere.

Some comic: "I'm not gay, but for a million bucks, I can be drunk and

ABC? You blamin the "liberal media" again?
Is that the same ABC who aired that bogus "docudrama" full of lies
about Clinton? You mean, THAT ABC?

The question you should be asking is, "Why did Dennis Hastert sit on
this for so long?"

You know me and old Dennis have something in common.
We're both fat and by the end of next week, neither of us will be
Speaker of the House.

Seems Foley may have been doing this since 2000. It's Clintons fault then.

I heard the radio show "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" this weekend. The
host mentioned how 9 years ago when the show started, they wondered if
they would get material for a comedic news show - and a week later
Monica was a Godsend. This week he felt doubly blessed.

Wasn't it "air-tight" when a Florida newspaper investigated it last
Fall and came away with it being a non-issue??

Oh wait, they didn't have access to the newly released super secret

Maybe we should claim all the terrorists are sending IM's to kids so

What the hell are you blabbering about? It=B4s not my party since I=B4m
not American - and it=B4s not my values either. It was stupid and
tasteless of president Blow-job to fuck Monica but it was no crime. It
was stupid and tasteless of Foley to mess with those kids but as far as
I know he didn=B4t fuck them. He didn=B4t molest them. That makes hell of
a difference. As a Catholic I was raised in the belief that
homosexuality was sin, but as a senior I have learned that it is all in

I would much prefer the company of a gay Republican than a heterosexual

Keep the kids in harms way for another month or two. You know, for
convenience. Because that's what the Republicans have been doing for the
last year, and I have to tell you it's not going over very well.

Homosexual predation against minors is "a minor issue" in Europe? This
52-year-old guy, a member of Congress, was exchanging sexually explicit
e-mails with teenage boys and trying to entice them into having sex
with him. If you see that as a minor issue, then fuck you and fuck

They certainly do - since they are continually caught on the wrong side
of the law. Of course, propositioning young schoolboys is a trivial
issue in the GoP lexicon, especially for a gay Congressman, protected by
a bunch of gay aides.

Desperation? The only desperation I see is Hastert and Boehner trying
to survive this debacle. Oh, and the Republicans trying not to lose
both houses of Congresss next month. And Foley trying to keep from
being indicted. You know, if Hastert and Boehner are forced to resign,
that will mean that two consecutive GOP House Speakers (Gingrich and
Hastert) and two consecutive GOP Majority Leaders (DeLay and Gingrich)
have had to resign in disgrace. And you're saying the Democrats are
desperate? Intersting.

No, what we are saying is that Democrats do not resign when they are
disgraced.

Unfortunately you are right. And this is what I like least (or dislike
the most!) about the commies. Loathsome hypocrites, full of envy and
hate - and they create so little, contribute so little of value to
humanity. The world would be such a fantastic place without them.
Perhaps, in the future, a brilliant scientist will design a virus which
only infects commies! As to denying facts - Clinton denied as long as
he could. F

Yeah, you have to hand it to the republicans. They got a president
impeached for having consensual sex with an adult while much bigger
problems needed to be addressed. To top it off, the #1 gunslinger,
Gingrich, had to resign shortyl thereafter for worse things than
having an affair.

At least he knows is wrong and trying to criminalize his behaviour. A
democrat would write legislation to legalize it.

Now let's see if he resigns, or will he make up excuses like at typical
liberal dems. Ooops, he already made up excuses.

"White wrote that he had been working with his family to overcome a
"personal identification situation" and to overcome depression for
which he has been treated through medication for over a year."

"I am a religious person and have been for some months praying to God
to help my family and me through this tragic and troubling episode in
my life," the letter said."

LOL! That is the line that almost makes me want to become a
christian. Fuck up and pray tell everyone you prayed to god for
salvation and that things will be all right now.

It is amazing how many people "find" Jesus when they get caught with
their hand in the till. The prisons are full of them. Bush will
probably visit Foley and they will pray together for his deliverance.
After that, Foley will declare he is no longer gay, has given up
alcohol and is ready to resume his position.

There is zero evidence...what there is alot of is speculation of who
knew what and when.
Over a year ago, there was an investigation into the emails by a local
Florida newspaper, and they came away with the report saying while the
emails weren't in the best interest of anyone concerned, no laws were
broken. Remember, it's not against the law to ask someone how they are
doing...regardless of age. Why weren't the IM's found a year ago?
And now why did they "appear" with less than 40 days to go before the
election?
And why were they "found" by a group with funding from our most
unfavorite communist Soros?

The IM's in question are disgusting...and again, so far there doesn't
seem to be any laws broken and if the FBI does think so, they will make
the arrests.

If the Dems want to blame the whole Republican party for this.....fine.
All republicans resign.
Then....we also get to blame the whole Democratic party for Clinton.
They all resign too.

Let's start with a clean house.

And the first new law passed is term limits. 12 yrs for Senate, 10 yrs
for House. 8 yrs for President.

No, that's the whole point. Right wingers and left wingers are both caught
in scandals, but the right wingers are the biggest hypocrites. Right
wingers go off on some drug crackdown as if on some holy crusade, then get
caught with crack. Left wingers just get caught with the crack. Get it

Foley was not removed. He quit. If he had chosen to stay he would still
be there today. and there's plenty of evidence that the House
leadership knew there was a problem with Foley and declined to do
anything about it.

A sensible man and a good Republican? Are you out of your fucking mind?
Does a sensible man and a good Republican write legislation to
criminalize the very behavior in which he's engaging? Does a sensible
man and a good Republican exchange IMs about masturbation with a
teenage boy while he's waiting to vote on the House floor? Does a
member of a political party that promotes "personal responsibility" and

Yeah, he should have either picked up a gay hooker and denied it, or
wagged his finger in front of millions saying "I did not text message
that boy... the page", because we all know THAT's taking
responsibility.

Foley should be a poster child for the liberals now. He's gay, he's
makes the Church look bad, and he pounds the booze.

At least he resigned.

It is interesting how differently the two parties handle scandals. The
Republicans kick them out. The Democrats excuse their behavior.

Foley was removed and his list of excuses are despicable. He should be
punished in accordance with whatever crimes he has committed. The Democrats
jump right on the conspiracy train and want to blame all the Republicans
instead of Foley. No evidence, just throw out a bunch of lies and see what
sticks. Incredible.

Nice try to turn this around, but I am afraid that this particular spin
drier is stuck pointing at you. Only thing funnier is watching Boehner
and co. trying to distance themselves from Hastert. Talk about rats
leaving a sinking ship.

What came to light? Do you have more information than what has been
released? My comments are not a 'turn around'. I am consistently a law and
order type person.

The GoP appears clearly culpable of covering this up. Hastert knew about
it for close to a year and did nothing - that's why Boehner is covering
his rear by distancing himself as far as he can from poor ol' Dennis.

Again, you are attempting damage control by dumping this all on the
wretched Foley. However, it is clear that others knew and sat on it -
that is a bigger crime.

Gay, alcoholic, and Republican.

Three things on your application that will move you to the top of the
new member list at any country club in America.

So should we ignore what the President said about this?

Annika is your typical tolerant liberal. Full of hate and no brains.

As opposed to, say, your typical right wing hard line "Christian" full of
hate and no brains. I do see the difference. Really. Mostly the
difference is hypocrisy. (Ironic that that's one of the few things Christ
*actually* spoke out against. (No, he didn't speak out against promiscuity
or internet gambling, regardless of what the neo-christian-fascists would
have you believe.))

True. The extremes are killing this country.

And that is still about 10% of the scandals for Democrats. Remember the
Clinton years. 2-3 scandals per week. Typical DemocraT. Remember your
boy Billy Bob"I did not have sex with that woman" Clinton. Remember
Barney Franks pimping gay sex from his house? Yet he refused to resign
and the Dems refused to expel him. How about Mel Reynolds? Remember
him. An ex-congressman who had sex with a subordinate, won clemency
from a president who had sex with a subordinate then was hired by a
clergyman who had sex with a subordinate. His new job? .....Youth
counselor.

I guess I owe them an apology. When I complained that they were
wiping their asses with the Constitution, I didn't realize their
predicament.
