Larry,

Make Baker give you the names of his parents first. He lives with
them.

Could be. But my money is on radio silence due to it being Whitaker.
To your point of comparing quotes - it's not the similarity, it's the
context. Heady wasn't saying "Larry's such a great guy, I sure hope
he one day wins the Nobel Prize...but at 66 he could be dead any day
now; and then it all becomes moot." IOW, it'll be good when Larry's
dead so I don't have to do all this research to expose him to
RSG...even though he's been exposed hundreds of times over.
Regardless of similarity, the context of both quotes is what made them
dispicable.

Here's something to try: Sort on Headshot's name; see what the thread
topics are that he's contributing to. Ask yourself how many are about golf.

The answers to those questions will tell you why I don't pay attention
to him.

There is no rule that you have to read every post in RSG.

There is absolutely no comparison. Even though HS doesn't need to
bring up someone's demise, you're the one saying that he meant that it
would be good in this case. He didn't say that, he said that it would
make LLLLarry's claims moot.

Had he said; "Fortunately he's old and soon, the world will be rid of
him." he should be raked over the coals.

In Canada. Why doesn't he participate in a forum that discusses
Canadian golf? I have asked him politely to BUTT OUT of American
politics. I suppose when you have nothing else to do, you're pretty
bored. It is pretty cold up there-- and I doubt he really golfs
anyhow.

Given that people in this forum have actually played golf with me,
that's just a little stupid to say, don't you think?

And this forum isn't for *American* golf, Larry, it's for *golf* period.
If you choose to post on politics where it is obviously inappropriate,
why shouldn't I reply?

Hmm. Did I find myself in rec.sport.golf.us accidentally? Oh, wait - nope.

Can I call you an idiot?

I'm American - born and raised. I live on a golf course. Play all year
round. So do I have standing?

It's context, BK. Stop arguing and shut yo mouf. It's sunny/75* out
and I'm not giving you any more of my time right now. IOW, I'm gonna
play golf, my friend.

It is context, and you're just stirring shit. In the first place
there was no need for you to even bring it up. Next, Head Shot and I
don't exactly agree either.

I played golf yesterday. Pretty good day, except for a triple.

What difference does that make?

I suppose if this newsgroup is to be exclusive, those who play
together in the meets have priority - but it's open to anybody
interested in golf.

As far as 19th hole off-topic discussions - nobody would kick someone
away from our table just because he's living in a country allied with
mine with similar interests. At the golf course, we treat our
companions with a bit of class - as though they were real people. And
those people who have class show it even here.

Would anyone here welcome Larry at the 19th hole or as a playing partner on

So either you're the plumber of RSG, or I've dredged up the biggest

Well, you said it. Dredging up LLLLLarrry is a mess. :-)

Hope to play well this weekend, supposed to be 80 degrees and little
wind. That's a big change.

You have a good one too.

Always glad to have a newby in who doesn't understand what is going on
here. This group of regulars mercilessly flamed me back when I was
naive and earnest, a tennis player trying to learn to golf, asking
naive questions. I even gave my real name and real SCGA number--which
they still use to check my scores. None of them offered similar
information about themselves, BTW. When I was a high handicapper I
got the opposite of answers; they ridiculed me. Now BK, Glnaz, Allen
Baker, and a few others are here only to provide a few minutes of
entertainment for me now and then.

BTW, I have hundreds of friends in my golf club. Call Morgan Run in
Rancho Santa Fe, CA. and ask anyone about Larry Whitaker. You won't
see any of the regulars here with guts enough to give such information
about themselves! The regulars here seem to be people who can't make
eye contact when they meet in person, limp handshake, etc. Just poor
character. I would check to see if I still had my watch after
meeting any of them.

When you first showed up a lot of people gave you the benefit of the doubt.
Now that they know you better they assume that everything you say is a lie.

1) I have read and posted here longer than you have been around. Including
accidentally thinking you were well intentioned but had a communication
problem only to have you attack me for trying to "defend" you.

2) I understand all too well what goes on here. It is modestly amusing at
times, informative at times, and maddening at times with too much noise.
But that is how it has been for as long as I can remember.

3) To be pre-emptive - I am not part of any "clique" - I've never met any of
the people (that I know of) in this group - some I'm quite sure I'd rather
avoid - some might be a hoot to play golf with. I've never been a member of
the c-list. I offer minimal advice on the golf swing - because I know that
I know I don't know enough to try to impart wisdom to the masses - and that
there isn't a "secret" to golf.

4) You are slightly more amusing than GH and less than Felicity - but can be
far more annoying than pretty much anyone including Tex.

5) On the up side, the threads on "you" are more entertaining than the navel
dwelling pissing match played out by Dene et al.

I don't have a clue about anything you referenced. I don't know those
folks and I doubt they know me. In fact you don't either. Apparently
you are another poor soul who thinks RSG is real or even vaguely
important. Get help.

Or maybe he knows that RSG consists of real people. And he's lucky
enough to believe that real people are worth treating well.

I don't know "you" - I know your newsgroup persona. Based on it, I would
probably not want to get to know "you". You seem to have a self-esteem
problem that I doubt is confined to your RSG writing.

The nature of "reality" is something for philosophy majors to dwell on
before they start their career flipping hamburgers. RSG is "real" in the
sense that there are real people on the other end of the messages - some
revealing more about themselves here than they would in person/public. Is
RSG important? Not in the slightest. But it can be entertaining, and
sometimes (if seldom) illuminating.

This forum provides a scenario in which miscreants may throw feces at
others --while remaining anonymous. Those with class decline the
opportunity, rising above that. The regulars here are addicted, they
do it all day every day. History is replete with accounts of
society's scum racing for the bottom.

There are people who "throw feces" and those who attract it - like you. You
go out of your way to attract it - now there is an addiction. Yet despite
it all you return because even negative attention is better than no
attention.

Hmmmm ... calling folks you've never met such names as "miscreants",
"addicts", and "scum" would appear roughly equivalent to the "throwing
feces" you apparently deplore? Who are "those with class" that you refer to?

Actually, llllarry's chevy malibu is at the impound lot; not the airport.

At least you're playing. I made a decision to quit playing in the
rain or extreme cold. Consequently, I haven't been able to touch a
club since mid-October. I am curious if this lapse will have any
lasting effect on my game. You never know with this game....I may end
up happy with an 85.

Have you given RSG-Cincy some thought? Be fun to see you again.

I was probably kidding about Larry's posts being golf content oriented
and fun. Though there is some train wreck style fun watching the
unbelievable, yet predictable, reactions he continues to garner in
this group time after time. Doesn't speak well of those who continue
to take the bait like brainless, hungry catfish.

Dene, make the ticket on Nothwest or Delta, I will show my ugly and large

I seem to recall you throwing out the 5000 square foot house call when
you first emerged on the RSG scene...even though no one asked. And
the only laughable thing about the link is that it is hosted by
geocities. Which means you either a) took time out of your day to run
down that specific wav file and ingratiate yourself by piling on the
resident love child of Strom Thurmond and Ann Coulter's grandma, or b)
you use geocities to host gay little wav files. Either of which are
pretty lame and contrary to your hunch, not funny.

BTW, since you seem to hang around this NG for no real reason, bring
some golf content, noob. Earn your right to bag on Larry. Can you
hit a 240 2-iron from a hard pan lie? I didn't think so...

No - Benji the sock puppet is saying she was offered a free ride in
Lllllarry's secret Cessna-Piper 747 crossbreed if he came and protected
Llllarry's honor.

Were that a criteria this would be a very small group...and LLLLarrry

HS,

Here are some observations I've made about Larry through the years...

1. He mostly posts about golf. He's gone so far as to post his
swing.

2. He's politically conservative

3. At times, he comes across as arrogant, perhaps exaggerating his
success. Nobody has met him so his integrity is tough to verify.

4. There are a gaggle of guys who live for Larry threads. He puts
out the stink bait...gives it a couple of jerks....and boom, Baker,
Knight, Newell, Greer, etc. are all over it. Free country....RSG is
unmoderated and so he's free to troll....they are free to bite. It
just would surprise me if you want to be a part of that, at least on a
long term basis.

That's the way he posts. But he does so in a fashion that is a
parody designed to make conservatives look bad. That doesn't mean
he's not a conservative - only that he has more fun trolling than
trying to persuade us that conservative values work.

yeah, life gets boring here. Country club with free unlimited range
and great practice facilities only 3 miles down the road, perfect
weather, (check it out). Airport and my Malibu is 15 miles away.

Regarding golf, I am working these days on the range to do what Dr.
Melvin does-- which seems to be a good thing for someone my age. I
get a decent workout when I spend an hour hitting 100+ balls doing the
"baseball" drill. I doubt anyone here could do it.

Sorta makes all that shaft flex characteristics stuff bogus, doesn't
it mike?

Regarding politics, WE are starting to organize to support Duncan
Hunter for President.

FAA says nobody with lllarry's name has ever owned a plan of any kind. He
is full of shit. And I have *NEVER* met a pilot who didn't know if he had a
Cessna or a Piper. You couldn't confuse aircraft from those two companies
if you wanted to. High wing vs. low wing is always a dead giveaway.......

Freddy Kouples - Freddy Couples less talented twin seperated at birth. The
only way you can tell we are related is we both have grey hair, bad backs
and a right push... but FredC knows where the ball is going and FredK gets
pot luck.

I can hit a 1-iron from Larry's divot high and straight and land it softly
260 yds away. My handicap is +7 and Hank Haney calls me when he can't
figure out what is wrong with Tigers swing. The inventor of the Whippy
trainer got the idea after seeing my smooth swing. I fly a Gulfstream IV
and have a rating to fly anything from 767's to F-18s. I not only was a
nuclear engineer on a sub, I designed the reactor. I own my country club.
My house is so big that I haven't even seen every room in it. I don't own
an ISP - I own the telephone company. Gene Littler asks for *my* autograph
and swing advice.

IMO, Larry is in a different league than the above. He's powerful, in
that he succeeds every time in getting the same familar hatemongers to
bite every thread he starts. This one is 11 days old and still going
strong. When it finally fades, he'll toss out another stinkybait and
the same fish will latch on to it like it's the last hamburger at the
In and Out.

I'm not going to take the time to research this but I betcha his
threads draw more posts than any other threads.....by far!

If the fish simply quit biting, Larry would fade away out of sheer
boredom. He must laugh his head off every time. You got to hand it
to him....it's a game he's been playing for years and he's been
successful at making his enemies look like fools.

There is no better revenge than success.

I don't agree at all, and didn't think you were foolish to respond.

What is funny is that those who keep prodding the little twerp are
having all of the fun. If you'll read those posts, you'll see who
really is the fish and who is being caught. It's LLLLLarrrrry the
Liar. He's such an easy k, and is doing the biting...he keeps

That's certainly my take on it. He is so lonely that his only source of
entertainment is to pester people into arguing with him.

I find him too repetitive. Always the same tired political and golf
trolls, the same boring old responses. The only ones I find amusing at all
are the "I'm a great and wealthy man" trolls, due to their obviously
desperate quality.

On the other hand good discussions sometimes arise from his little grass
fires.

Why don't ALL of them reveal their real names and their real email
addresses, their real USGA Golf Index, their real telephone numbers,
and their street addresses? I do that. I have done that for 5+ years
without the slightest problem. Nobody has had the guts to righ my
phone or call my golf club. But then I have class--am I alone on RSG
with that attribute? Probably.

I wouldn't give out to that information to a random person on the street or
on a public golf course. Context is important. My handicap is important if
I play a competetive round with someone - and if I ever try to pontificate
on swing theory you might want it and my credentials. A "handle" like a
first name is a courtesy. None of the rest of the information is something
any sane person would freely disclose in a public internet forum.

Good for you. You are not sane.

Yes, but apparently you have the "guts" to do that very thing to others.
Class? Sure - 3rd grade.

They weren't laughing at me LLLarry, they were laughing at you. You
called the pro shop that sells green fees, not the driving range and
asked for someone who doesn't teach. I bet they did get a laugh out
of someone calling long distance to ask a stupid question.

So you define class as calling a course where someone says they play
trying to dig up dirt on them? Than when none exist you make it up? I
call that "low class".

Is that lllarry's style? I am not surprised. If it was not for low class;
that buffoon would have no class at all.

Hi David,

5 years ago I called your "home course," the one near New Orleans that
you crowed about being a teacher of some sort-- because you had
ruthlessly attacked me personally here-- without provocation. I
wanted to see who you are.

And when the staff answered the phone in the pro shop-- the PGA pros
there all roared with laughter when I said, "You must know him--he is
an AUTHORIZED INSTRUCTOR in The Golfing Machine!" Someone yelled,
"anyone know an authorized instructor named David Laville?" Just
laughs. And I am stilll laughing, David.

Whew! A 15 handicapper with an OTT swing, an "Instructor." "Don't do
what I do...."

Larry (7.7 handicap and going lower). I have just enrolled in the
Titleist Performance Institute (http://www.mytpi.com) --and expect
big things as I achieve better physical conditioning.

Larry (KING of RSG) Don't cross swords with me.

What's funny is that Larry claims he called a course, which I don't
teach at, to see who I was. Why didn't he just go to TGM web site
since who I am is in my sig?

Well, one thing we know, you couldn't pass 6th grade English. There
are a dozen gross gram errors in that sentence.....

We reveal a lot about ourselves when we write. There are good reasons
employers demand a short composition from job applicants. After
reading your writing, they would hand you a broom!!

For ending a phrase with a preposition they'd hand him a broom?

Please.

That is the sort of arrant pedantry up with which I will not put.

Are you confusing a college application with a job application?

But you are absolutely correct about writing revealing a lot about an
individual - like your tendency to use "we" instead of "I" or "you". Your
prose attemps to turn a personal first person experience into something
universal. For example you will write "When we first learn to swing"
instead of "When I first learned to swing". The former makes it appear as
you are telling us a universal truth (which of course *will* be challenged).
The latter makes it clear that it is your opinion and your observation.

Your choice of words and writing style is in many respects why your personal
voyage of discovery has met with such derision in RSG. Purely from a style
standpoint, you come off as a pompous gas bag: Professor Larry gives us his
revealed truth. Simple choice of words and writing style. You could be ALL
the things you claim to be - but you are not believed simply because your
style of writing seems to fit someone who isn't.

So stop/minimize the use of the collective or royal "we" in your writing.
You would be suprised.

But each time someone suggests this to you - you have take it as a personal
attack as opposed to an attempt at constructive criticism - and then as you
would say "throw feces" at them.

Strange, in my 40+ years of employment I never wrote a single
composition of any length during the application process...

And yet, I always got the job. And before you decide what kind of job,
it was programming, repair and building of computers, and later network
design and management...

Lloyd, you are correct. I worked in computers and computing since 1967.
(Make that 1959 if you consider analog bombing computers.) Never had to
write anything to get a job, except a hand-loaded machine language patch in
the old days. And patches ain't got no gram rules. In all my years, I've
come across many, many great programmers and many of them could not spell.
And 'foul' was their best language. Trust me, if a guy could program, we
could hide the fact that he was deficient in just about anything. Hell, most
of the secretaries would laugh at their writing skills. None of them could
program so they stayed at their desks. Unless they had big tits. And then we
would teach them how to program. ;-)

Oh yeah. When interviewing, Tits beats a masters degree.

You guys are amusing. Anyone can wave anything, grab your attention,
and many of you will abandon whatever you are doing and follow like
sheep--or zombies. It is just too easy. You guys are far beyond
"easily led;" you are pathetic. Since you obviously have nothing
productive to do with your hours, why not read good literature instead
of wasting your hours here? like maybe "get a life??"

Interesting LLLLLarry.

This mean that you're a zombie too, since you have little to do but
respond to their posts.

You're the pathetic one, and I understand that carries over to The
Golf Channel forums too. Since this is the most productive thing you
can do, and it must be to claim to be the king of something, why don't
you find some reading material. A suggestion: the Dale Carnegie
classic, "How to Win Friends and Influence People"? You obviously
haven't read it.

One thing we know is that you couldn't pass a cognitive reading test.
The post to which replying isn't from "the Moderator".

Hell, you didn't even pass the test on checking up on Laville...you
called the wrong number.

We reveal a lot about ourselves when we write. After reading your
writings it's apparent that you don't have much common sense. Good
thing you have your home office job, because if your resume reads like
your claims in RSG, you couldn't get hired. Lies are so easy to
check.

Do you think that anyone on RSG would believe you over David Laville?

David,

No one believes anything he says anymore. He also said that he called
my home course, but no one there ever talked to him...and that he
called to check on my position with the Internet company for whom I
worked....and that they gave him information. The HR people there
would've just laughed at him. Sorta like everyone here does.

He's just a lying troll. Period.

Besides being a lying troll he's ignorant and has no class.

I stopped posting under a real name a long time ago to prevent spammers from
harvesting anything useful, and to keep the "casual nuts" from trying to
cause trouble. But I have posted under FredK since early 2005 - and have
read RSG since sometime in 2000 and have occasionally posted since 2001.
For some oddball reason I had the urge to post - I typically just casually
read when things are slow - maybe it's the fact it is spring time - and even
in the land of year-round golf - it is the time to get new clubs and buy a
new game.

Yes, that's 2000-2001. The good old days of Felicity Lodge & George
"Perfect Impact" Hibbard versus the world - David Lavalle, Mike Dalecki,
Annika, R&B, etc.

It did take me all three (George, Felicity and the Larry) to learn my lesson
that first impressions are usually right - and perhaps the benefit of the
doubt need not be extended in a newsgroup. George now appears to have been
tamed with age, Felicity (if she really existed) is gone (perhaps to become
Miss Ann Thorpe), and Larry... you have to admit that Larry almost makes
you miss Joseph Bartlo.

You never want to be in a group with Joesph Bartlo. All he does is bring
alt.usenet.kooks with him and then the group turns to a spam fest. OTOH;
I am almost shocked that llllarry is not a kook-of-the-month award winner;
which would bring them in here anyway.

All you need to do is just participate here occasionally-- but NOT
REGULARLY and get drawn into the insane mindset of the regulars. Bail
out for weeks at a time. Then drop in and have fun.

Don't quite understand your point. I've dropped in and out of reading this
group for months at a time. The "regulars" (which I guess would be defined
as people who have posted on at least a weekly/daily basis for some length
of time) are not some uniform group - in fact *you* are a regular.

So I'm not quite sure what the "mindset" is. The only uniform thing I can
say I've observed in the 6+ years I've read this group is that a half dozen
or so people attempt to debunk those who try to sell themselves or their
services as experts (example: George Hibbert/Perfect Impact, the Golf
Machine, Natural Golf, SLAP, whatever). Or to deflate the self important.

Other than that, it is much like any other newsgroup - random political
threads, religious threads, stupid threads... and occasional on-topic
debate of something having to do with the subject of the newsgroup including
occasional stories and good/bad advice.

Thanks for the detective work, Heady, we had no clue. We were all
laboring under the impression that Lar is a nuclear engineer, a highly
successfuly businessman, and a single digit 'capper: The website, the

What an idiot. EVERYONE with serious money owns everything through a
trust or corporation. In Rancho Santa Fe nobody can learn who owns
any property--or who actually lives there. We like it like that,
keeps the riff-raff out.

For many here, an airplane or helicopter is a trivial possession, the
details are for those whose job it is to keep track of such stuff--.

Just curious. "Isn't the best of taste" (sic) is pretty meek for you,
BK. I'd say it was classless horseshit...regardless of who he was
referring to. I do find it a little ironic that those who crucified
Greg (myself included) for his idiotic line about Strauss are
strangely silent over this guy's drivel.

What on earth makes you think that very many people read his posts? I
rarely do.

If I'd known about it, I would have said something, but I didn't, so my
silence over "this guy's drivel" is simply because I've had better
things to do than read it.

Don't you have better things to do as well?

Not everybody reads every thread. I pretty much avoid the Larry
threads because he laps every post about him up. It's his entire
reason to get up in the morning. I do check in on your posts
some because you usually say things worth reading, even when I
disagree with them, so here I am wondering what the hell got
into your coffee.

Generally, I find the "where is your outrage about *this*?!"
tactic to be a stupid one, specifically for the reasons mentioned
above. People aren't going to respond with outrage about things
they've never seen or heard. The "your outrage isn't vehement
enough" tactic is even dumber, especially when your underlying
point seems to be that Bobby treats Greg differently than he treats
people with whom he has had no prior contact, as though it's the
height of hypocrisy not to like somebody. My problem with Greg's
relentless nagging of Bobby and Dalecki (perhaps ended now, only
Greg knows for sure) isn't that it's in some way hypocritical; it's
that it has become tedious to ready 40,000 iterations of the same
basic point: that he doesn't like those two people. Yeah, ok, we
get it, you know?

And then there's some sort of metapoint about you policing people
whose tendency to police you find off-putting, but I probably need
to file that into my "I had better leave the stones on the ground
on this one because I am not without sin" basket.

I don't consider it meek at all. There's no comparison between saying
"at 66 he could be dead any day now; and then it all becomes moot"
and that the world would be better off with him gone.

There are several possibilities for the lack of response;
1) Many of those who called Greg on his usual lack of taste are gone.
2) Those that are left may not read Head Shot's posts
3) It's early yet.
