It's about time somebody within the black community take responsibility and draw attn. to of the country's biggest racists, Sharpton and Jackson. I especially liked Whitlock's point about the arrest record of NFL players. http://sports.aol.com/whitlock/_a/time-for-jackson-sharpton-to-step-down/20070411111509990001 -Greg

Betting windows are now open. Bayonet front nine is completely ripped up for re-routing and luxury home building - fucking shame. However, you can play the back nine...and Blackhorse. Hint for bettors: I'm flying out on the 20th - take the under.

I mean, aside from earning an athletic scholarship to a highly respected university. Broad assumption. Kinda condescending of you there, Lefty. ;) But seriously Chris, back away from the keyboard yo, you don't want to outpace Brazee...

Black rap artists are the ones who create these phrases, most which are far worse than "nappy headed ho." Yet from Sharpton and Jackson, there is silence. Silence about this issue and the disintegration of black families, which is a critical reason why crime and subsequent incarceration occurs at a higher per capita rate. Whitlock's point is that the black community needs new leadership, better focus, on personal responsibility instead of this hyper-racial victim nonsense. You don't see the oriental and hispanic communities whining about racism. Instead, you see solvent families and people working hard to acquire the American dream. -Greg

Ben, Your concluding thoughts are just as relevent as Whitlocks, cept Imus is more interesting than you give him credit. (he is a terrific interviewer, funny, and most important...bluntly honest). I admire I- man's guts to own up and yet not cave to these clowns. I watched the first ten mins. of the Sharpton's radio show and about threw up. He had no interest in hearing anything Imus had to say....he wanted blood and publicity......period. Their next appearance was the following day with Matt Lauer. By that time, Imus had obviously had enough of Sharpton's charade and began to call him to question. Lauer joined in as well. Great to see. Even better, Whitlock gets it too. -Greg

Thanks for the link. Sorry to reply to my own post, but I thought this bore repeating for those who didn't hit the link: "The insistence by these young women that they have been emotionally scarred by an old white man with no currency in their world is laughably dishonest. The Rutgers players are nothing more than pawns in a game being played by Jackson, Sharpton and Stringer." Some people have the ability to see an issue so simply and relate it in it's most elemental form. In this case, once again, Sharpton has stepped in and created a tempest in a teapot out of some dumbass words from a LONG washed up and really never all that interesting DJ. Words that most of the world would never have known had Sharpton not trotted out his predictable routine of justifying his position as elder spokesman of the African American community. Again, thanks, Greg.

That's stupid. If you did something truly noteworthy for the first time in your life and the next day you heard on a nationally syn- dicated radio and cable TV show what a social leper you were, you'd flip out and you know it. The question isn't whether Imus should be fired. The question is why people like Imus and his Klannish posse get such highly visible and respected positions in our national media in the first place. He's never been anything but a petty little racist and misogynist, why the hell do so many major media figures line up to appear on his show? -- Chris Bellomy C-List Charter Member http://clist.org/

A battle between asses. Where you're wrong is that those words were going to be heard, it didn't take Sharpton to relate them. If the first ass had not been overtly racist, Sharpton, the second ass, wouldn't have had any ammunition. Frank Ross
