I had to take 4 months off from golfing because of rotator cuff
problems. I recently got the okay to play again as long as I do not
over do it. So this past weekend I went to an executive course near the
house. Some parts of my game went better than I thought they would and
other parts suffered due to lack of playing time. I did not keep score,
had a good time, and my shoulder did not bother me.

I was off @ 9 months with mine -- but my surgeon said mine was as bad as she
had seen -- lucky me -- I heaved on the therapist the 1st time he tortured
me -- we are still friends & play golf together to this day.

I worked my butt off with my therapy & it is as good as was promised ---
which was good enough to play golf & brush my teeth & hair -- I just have to
walk up to the edge of the pond when I want to throw my ball in it.

I did fight a slice for a while after the surgery & I've always been a
hooker -- I did learn to fade ball after all that -- which was something I
could never do before.

See - silver lining!

For me it was a small tear. I did learn that the muscles and tendons in
my right shoulder were a lot tighter than the muscles in my left
shoulder. Stretching will help me out a lot especially in my swing.

Nice story.

Do the rehab. Every week.

This is an injury with which I can certainly empathize. I've had
three rotator cuff operations. One on the left. I was off for 8
months with that one...very bad tear. The two on the right shoulder
were less of a problem...four months for the first and three for the
second. I can only urge you to diligently follow the rehab and
exercises they give you. It's been 25 years since the my left one,
and I screwed around with the rehab. It never will be as strong as it
should be.

Good luck.

What Bobby said. I'm looking at RC operation number two soon. I was down for
almost a year the first time. I also didn't take the rehab serious, bad
idea. The wing has never been the same. My first was almost 20 years ago so
hopefully they've got some new techniques now. The dozen or so Cortizone
shots didnt help a bit either.

I was lucky. I do not need surgery or shots. I do know that I do not
want to go through his again. I am taking the advice of my therapist
seriously. I like to be on the golf course.
