Subject: I found something that might help your swing - and it happens before you swing the club

NOTE: if you already understand the golf swing, and can apply enough force to compress a golf ball effectively, this post will be something that you probably figured out/understood a long time ago. I found something very simple that might help your golf swing. It is an easy to perform procedure which is done after you take your grip and align to the target. Here is the procedure: -After you get your grip, stance, and alignment set make sure the leading edge of your golf club is square to your target line (if you want to hit the ball straight) -Then, while keeping the leading edge square (this is VERY important because the leading edge must not move at all during this procedure) move your hands in front of your leading thing (left thigh for righties) and make sure your trailing shoulder is lower than the leading shoulder (weight should be on left front leg). This should be the 'Standard Impact Fix' position -Once you have your body and club in relatively the same position that you want it in during impact we are ready to perform this simple procedure: -Just apply enough pressure to the golf club to flex the clubshaft -I like to bounce my body from an unflexed shaft to a flexed/stressed clubshaft. It is important to keep the leading edge in the same exact position during this entire 'shaft flexing' rehearsal. Pressure to the grip should come from behind the golf club I think this helps me feel my pressure points apply good pressure to the club shaft which is the same pressure that I want to apply to the clubshaft during impact. If this pressure causes my shaft to flex during my golf swing, then I am a happy golfer. This makes the my true temper steel shafts (for my irons) feel very 'bouncy' and 'springy' during impact. It is a feeling that I want with all the clubs in my bag ( except the putter ). Simply use this feeling throughout your downswing to apply pressure to the golf club and flex the clubshaft.

Thank you Allen. You have been very helpful. I agree that hand pressure does not flex the shaft during the swing. I think it is radial and longitudinal acceloration that causes the shaft to flex. I will check out that forum. Alan Illeman wrote: > Don't be sorry, he's just kidding you. None here are "scratch golfers who > hit the ball 250 yds with a 5 iron". Thanks for trying to share something that works for you. I posted something a couple of years ago, which I think may be more accepted now, than then. I was playing with some Korean golfers and they seemed to be really interested in helping each other. It was like being a kid again when we used to say, almost on every hole, "what did I do wrong?" and we really tried to help each other figure out our swings. Imo, Korean golfers seem to have an attitude that will help them excell in golf, and I don't know that it's a hasty generalization, but maybe. They make a pretty good car, the Hyundai, too. And I don't mind supporting a country trying to maintain its democracy in the face of a tyrant. Sorry. Don't be sorry, he's just kidding you. None here are "scratch golfers who hit the ball 250 yds with a 5 iron". Your drill of flexing the shaft at impact fix is well known and often described as "dragging a wet mop" but no amount hand pressure on the grip during the downswing will cause the shaft to flex more than the existing lag pressure. If you want to converse with TGM believers go to the www.lynnblakegolf.com forums. There's only a few here interested in TGM, notably David Laville and Dave Clary. Hey, Mr.Millionaire Golfer....did you actually respond to my original post or did you just wait for anything related to the golf swing to post your snake oil advertisement ? You guys are a dime a dozen. RSG is for people actually looking to help and improve their golf. Not for sleazy salesmen looking to make a quick dollar. I enjoyed your post! You've hit on one of golf's hidden secrets. Great golf happens before you swing the club. I call these secrets "The Lazy Golfer Way". The Lazy golfer finds ways to lower his/her score without working hard. The Lazy Golfer works st. Here's an example of a Lazy Golfer tip.... ------------------------------------------------------- Lazy Golfer Strategy: EAT POSITIVE THOUGHTS ------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Why Implement This Strategy: Lower your scores! ------------------------------------------------------- After Jack missed a short putt a fan said, "Sorry you missed that one, Jack." Jack's response was: "I didn't miss the putt. It just didn't go in." Jack was right! He hit the line and speed he wanted, so in his mind everythingwas fine. This mental approach protected his self-image and allowed him to move on without dwelling on it like many of us do after missing a short putt. By doing so, he prevented the miss from affecting his self-confidence on future putts. Beating yourself up mentally by "eating negative thoughts" is crazy. It's nuts! It's like putting a gun to your score and pulling the trigger. The only result of eating negative thoughts is getting a fat, lazy mind. A fat, lazy mind = high scores! ------------------------------------------------------- Steps To Implement The "EAT POSITIVE THOUGHTS" Strategy: ------------------------------------------------------- ------- Step 1: ------- Ever heard the expression, "What you eat, you are?" Well, "what you think, you are." When you see yourself starting to get mad and about to eat a few FATTY THOUGHTS (e.g. "I'm useless"), choose to eat a positive thought by telling yourself something great about the shot (e.g. "Man, my pre-shot routine was amazing."). ------- Step 2: ------- Never ever, ever, ever put yourself down on the course (OR ANYWHERE ELSE!). Choose carefully what you think about. Don't get FAT on negative thoughts. Stay SLIM by eating only positive thoughts. Here's an example: FAT THOUGHT: "I hate chip shots." Or, "I always chunk my chip shots." The instant you start eating negative thoughts, say to yourself, "stop," and don't allow yourself to eat the negative thought. Now change that negative into something productive. SLIM THOUGHT: "This is going in" Tell yourself what you want to do. Whether you make a good chip is not the point. What is the point is that over the long run, your new, positive dialogue will take you to a new level of play throughout the whole game. =========================================================== CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO JOIN THE LAZY GOLFER VIP CLUB TODAY! http://www.autopilotmoneymachines.com/golf/vip.html It's FREE!
