I've a friend who got hole-in-one and was witness by the golf tournament presentatives during the tournament. Photos and flight mate particulars was taken. The friend of mine did a mistake that he did not sign his score card when he submitted but his flight mate signed as ker. The question is that can the friend of mine still eligible to receive the prize for hole-in-one?

What matters are the rules concerning the hole-in-one contest. Generally, those rules are written to make it harder to pay out the prize, not easier or equitable. After all, it is the people with the prize who write the rules. I wouldn't put it past them to have a clause stating that the hole-in-one must occur during the course of a legal round in which the competitor wasn't DQ'd. But I don't know. The original poster might have some insight into that, though. I suspect he hasn't given all the details.

A hole-in-one is not part of the Rules of Golf. Whatever criteria they set up for that prize are what counts. Being disqualified from the tournament does not necessarily mean he's disqualified from that particular competition.

A hole-in-one is not part of the Rules of Golf. Whatever criteria they set up for that prize are what counts. Being disqualified from the tournament does not necessarily mean he's disqualified from that particular competition. Were you playing in a professional or sanctioned amateur tournament? If not, why would you be required to "sign" your score card? Was it a scramble format or another game for simple recreation, as if it was, you don't generally have to sign your card. If it was a sanctioned tourney, you friend may have been disqualifed from the tourney for not signing his card, but he still made the hole-in-one. I don't feel he should have to forfeit any prize or compensation even if he was dq'd from the tourney. Scott

If he made the hole in one and it was witnessed there should be no doubt that he should receive the prize. Otto

Only the folks offering the hole-in-one prizes can answer the question as the Rules of Golf don't apply.
