Subject: Good practice area around NYC
I'm trying to find a good driving range near New York city where I can
hit balls off the ground. I called up loadz of places and most don't
have a practice facility, let alone hitting off the ground. Any
suggestions would be really, really appreciated.

cheers!

I recall driving by a driving range off Route 9W. I'm not sure if it has
grass tees though.

There's a driving range in Jersey City - about 10 minutes from the
Holland Tunnel - where you can hit off grass. You need to pay a special
grass tee member rate for that priviledge though. Not sure how much
that costs. The golf range used to be a craphole, but it was redone at
the end of last year and it's not so bad now. Here's a link to it:

and the phone number is 201.332.1917. Hope this helps.

Well now we're talking. Sitting out on the veranda after the round,
shooting the shit and enjoying a nice Glenlivet and Montecristo and
watching the the sun go down. Can't beat it.
