Am wondering if any of you have switched to Project X shafts and what the difference is between those and TT Dynamic Gold S300s, for example. Is your swingspeed appreciably faster? Does impact give you the same amount of feedback? I just read a column where the author says most forged iron players would prefer Project X shafts because of the improved feel, which is a claim I had not heard before...

Thanks to those who responded. It sounds like I will stick with TT Dynamic Golds....and stop the experimenting for awhile. By the way, if there are any forged-iron lovers out there who are looking for another set to play, I just picked up a used set of Ben Hogan Apex Edge Pro forged a few weeks ago. I may finally have found a set Iike more than my Mizuno Trues. Not as much feel as the Trues, but man, I don't think I have ever hit so many GIR. Once I reshafted from the original Apex 4 shafts into the TT DGs S300s, and took a few rounds to get accustomed to them, my irons have returned as the best part of my game. I had Harrison Premier Golf in R3 on my KZG musclebacks. I got them used and the shafts were too short for me. They had much more feed back then the shafts in my Ping Eye 2s. I got fitted at a Certified Rifle Center near me in Palo Alto, CA. My chart showed stiffness of 5.4 to 6.0. I ended up with Project X shafts in 5.0. They still feel stiff to me, but I also like how solid they feel. ScottMac

They were terrible shafts for the price ($25/shaft). The set was not trimmable, which meant they were what they were. The frequency slope was about what you'd expect from someone just throwing a set together without concern for frequency or weight. I was not impressed. Mike

The shafts just feel better, more consistent and possibly a higher ball flight than dynamic golds or normal rifles. Also they feel the same club to club. Oh well lots of dew sweeping next week!! http://www.pbase.com/alancampbell/image/69904012 -- alan
