I've seen two several hour outages of the Golf Channel on Cox Cable in
the past week. Is this just Cox Cable or are other providers having the
same problem?

Indeed. I spend a lot of time in that bar nowadays. Fun place. Hate
when the power flickers though.

And, I don't miss golf so much since we have a lot of local government
issues that take up a good part of the day. I often get pulled away to
rescue folks buried in a mine or caught in our local library. It's
really a good thing I can't tune in and see Justin Rose or whoever shot
that 60 down in Florida.

Anyway, my neighbor has a black mesh satellite dish he uses to get on
the Russian internet to check his cricket and soccer fantasy teams, so
if I need to catch up, I can always go over there and use that.

Cheers,
Ed

Yeah, it's doing that a lot these days.

That library fire was scary. At least until those two geniuses got the
auxiliary pump working. And who'd a thunk a pool pump would have
enough pressure to push water about 500 feet through a three inch
hose. Too bad that house sploded before it could be saved.

Except I get the feeling he might just as easily kill you as let you
use his puter. Good luck.

That's why they invented ???? cable TV wasn't it?

Have you looked at the several satellite TV offerings?

You have a point there, Bert. Anyone who hasn't had it with their cable
company either isn't of this world, or is young enough to be
Congressman-bait. I decided to spend a little more, to get WAY more, and
TGC works just fine. Their programming, in general, on the other hand......
My wife reports reception problems with the Food Channel though. Of course,
I didn't tell her I was walking between the dish and the satellite,
spreading silver roof goo (occasionally gazing at the golf course). Women
know nothing of roof goo, or satellite beams, so why even go there?

Man-law?

My problem is that my wife is a rocket scientist and works in the
satellite industry.

That is a problem! If it makes you feel any better, one of my golf buddies
is a rocket scientist. Last year, he was sitting in his easy chair, poor
eyesight and all... then he reached for what he thought was eyedrops...
oops. Super-Glue. The emergency room staff got it all cleaned up and his
eye even looked normal, after a few weeks.

Not much on these days, anyway.
