No, that's the Thunderbirds who do the charity work. Not sure why you
are fixated on FBR being related to Arizona. They're just the title
sponsor of the tourney, that happens to be in AZ. In fact, FBR got its
start in the PGA Tour business by taking over sponsorship of the
venerable Kemper Open, in yland, in 2003. That only lasted a year,
then they were off to Scottsdale.
Is it too much to assume you have access to a web browser? How hard is
it to enter www.fbr.com and do a little reading. You'd find that the
company headquarters is in Arlington, VA. One of their 8 other offices
is in Phoenix. I guess it's just easier to pop in here with your
indignant questions and stir us up.
I'm sure you'll be back next month asking, "who are these PODS people
in Florida, and why are sponsoring a golf tournament? Is it some kind
of Invasion of the Body Snatchers thing? PODS - PODS - PODS!!".

some info for you. Arizona became a state on valentine's day in
1912. It has a very storied past, some good, some bad. New York City

Arizona gets snowbirds. Not sure what is better there!
The Phoenix Open started play in 1932, but was discontinued 3 years
later. It was reborn in 1939 when Bob Goldwater Sr. convinced the
Thuderbirds into running the event. (The Thunderbirds are a
prominent civic and charitable organization in Phoenix)
The tournament has been played at the Phoenix Country Club, the
Arizona Country Club, and in 1987, moved to it's current location at
the TPC of Scottsdale. Past champions include Arnold Palmer, Jack
Nicklaus, Vijay Singh and Phil Mickelson.
Together with the tournament, the Thunderbirds raise and donate
millions of dollars a year to local charities.
