Subject: Dumb question on rating 3 ball types
I hit Nike Mojo's as they work for me. I won a dozen balls and have a
choice between Maxfli Revolution Solid or Topflite XL Extreme Tour New
Nouveau. I know I can read reviews but some of you folks probably have used
one or all of these so I think I'd get better input here. I'd like to
choose the one closest to the Mojo and wonder which ball has the softest
feel (not that the Mojo is the softest ball made, I just want to get close
to the Mojo). Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Rob

Never played the Mojo. Back when I was playing 3-5 times per week (before
wife and children) I used to play the Titelist DT wound 100 compresson.

took a break for a few years where i only played maybe 3-5 times per *year*,
and played whatever I had in my bag, found, whatever.

got back into the game consistently about 1x per week over the last
two-three seasons, and after a while played the Titleist NXT Tour. Nice
ball and seemed to have the same characteristics of the old DT wound, but I
found myself really scraping the covers off the ball especially on my short
irons-was constantly having to pull off cover shavings before putting. so
then i tried the Maxfli Rev Solid. I find it to be a little more consistent
for where my game is yet it feels soft enough that I am able to stick it on
the green, and it seems to have enough spin that if i need to work a long
approach it allows me to do that on the cheap, adn the covers stay
scar-free.

I also played a few sleeves of the TopFlite 2000 a summer or two ago, and
they were straight and long, but felt harder--not as bad as a Pinnacle, but
still pretty tough. Went back to the Maxfli, and for the money I'm staying
with that ball.

hope that helps...

I love Titleist.

I haven't decided if the ProV1 or the ProV1X is the best for me. I think I
spin the ProV1 too much.

Imo, all of the other Titleist balls are better than any of the other
brands.

There are lots of other good balls out there and only one that is prominent
that that I really dislike.

I don't like any of the Topflite products. Too hard and clacky. Like hitting
a ble or a rock. They were like this in the early 70's and they are still
like this in the 21st century. Too hard for me.

Other balls I like:

Nike.

Callaway.

Maxfli.

The rest I don't even bother picking up for my wife and kids.

Maxfli Revolution Solid is a nice ball . I somtimes play the topflite
XL 2000 titanium. The TF XL is a harder ball but flys long & straight.
The Rev solid is very straight off the driver for me. I hit the mojo a
few times didn't like it. I used to like the softest ball I could find
but now my swing mechanics are better I'm doing better w/ a varity of
balls. I'm finding that I was sliceing balls that are very soft. Don't
know about the new top flite balls. It really is hard to be fair when
judgeing balls unless your swing is very consistant. I started playing
more spin balls now for my short par 3 exec course so I'm sticking on
the greens.
