About all I knew about that course was that it was called Tom Thumb and was on top of Lookout Mountain. It was supposedly the first miniature golf course in the world. The Oldest Member tells me that back in the day the Tom Thumb course was quite a hotspot. People would take their dates up there to play miniature golf. This was, of course, before the era of TV, internet, or anything like that. The Oldest Member and his golf buddies would go up there priily for the golf, but would also check out the women while they were there. He says the course was a real "monster." "You had to hit some f***in shots there! The course ran all over that damned mountain." They would often have some serious wagers on the matches and the groups of daters would pile up behind them, shouting "Hurry up!" as the foursome meticulously lined up their putts. On one occasion the boys were checkin out the local talent, a few of which were comely lasses "with their breasts falling out of their dresses." But The Oldest Member spotted a different girl, and told his friends, "Fellas, now THAT is the type of girl to ry!" The girl was with another guy so the Oldest Member only watched from a distance. A few months later, he happened across the same girl vacationing in Florida. He recognized her immediately as he knew her brother, but he didn't speak to her at that time either. When he got back to Chattanooga he mustered up the nerve to give her a call. You probably don't know me ....," he started. She replied, "Yes, I know exactly who you are." They have been ried now for 56 years. So the answer to your original question is "Yes." He won bigtime.
