What creative ideas have you seen golf courses do?

For example, a local course has a no-cost Family Fun program where a
parent and child can golf on a stand-by basis for $23 with a cart. Their
normal green fees on the weekends are $70 each so $23 for two is a deal.
Using this program I can usually be out golfing by 1:00 p.m. on Sundays.
This program is good any day of the week.

They are also going to be adding sings along the course explaining
certain rules. For example, along the first hole that has an
out-of-bounds area they will explain what to do if your ball goes
out-of-bounds.

Creative ideas by golf courses?

You mean besides poisoning the land and ground water with overly applied
herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers?

Let's face it cupcakes......the last good creative idea from a golf
course was the cart girl.

I would like to buy a short course and advertise that you can play
nine holes in an hour and 15 minutes.

That's not an option right now but I think a certain portion of
the golfing public would enjoy it.

You mean they are going to have groups of people actually singing
out the rules like Christmas carollers? That is creative.

If I go OB, I don't really think someone singing my options to me is going
to make me want to come back.

There's no need to make a plea,
Tee another, you're hitting three,
This one will stay in hopefully..."

Mine moves the tees and pins to a new location every day. Very
frustrating.

You'd love my course, they do that about every 2 weeks. About the
time every blade of grass from two feet and in is gone.

My home course has a deal that on club in the USA can match. You
join one golf club and you are a member at five other courses that
they own across parts of Germany. The monthly membership runs around
$220US.

A course here has a true no-cost junior program. They built a short nine
adjacent to their regular course. Kids under 18 can play all summer at no
cost; if they bring an adult, the adult plays free as well. The only
requirement is that the junior attend an etiquette class ($20) at the
course.

Neat idea, but they need to put that out of bounds explanation by the tee
box!
