Subject: Can anyone please post instructions for refinishing (painting) a metal wood head?
|
I have an older Golfworks reference repair book that describes the use of a two part epoxy paint that is no longer available. I believe that an automotive finish might be acceptable, but I don't believe that a thick grey primer layer is needed, nor recommeded. I still have a old can of spray golfworks "sealer" that I've used on sandblasted metalwoods. I'll try that on a cheap club prior to the automotive color coat.

I asked about the paint job and he said that he painted cars for a living. So, talk to an auto painter and see what they have to say.

You might want to serch also touch up paint, and automotive refinishing. I was planning to try this too, using the Dupli-Colour kind of thing from the auto repair place. You'll need various grades of sandpaper (metal working kind) primer, base coat and clear, plus masking tape. Primer is useful for filling the minute scratches from the sanding exercise. -- Watson deMeneux -Say it out loud next time you're in a restaurant.
