My wife and I have been hitting at the driving range for about 6 weeks, following 4 "introduction to golf" lessons in which we had a blast. We're looking to take a week's vacation in ch, and would like to go to a golf resort (perhaps in the Carolinas, perhaps Florida, perhaps somewhere else...we're in New York) where we could take a week of lessons. We are BEGINNERS. Any suggestions would be greatly welcome, thanks! -Michael

"any suggestions would be greatly welcome..." It's the same advice I give to all new golfers. Castrate yourself now.

Two of my favorite golf schools/golf courses are Grand Cypress in Orlando, FL and Kiawah Island in SC. They're both high end resorts that have terrific courses, excellent instructors and plenty of other things to do. Maybe just 9 holes here and there. Get a friend to take you out and acquaint you with the process. It will, I believe, be much more informative to you if you take lessons after knowing a bit about how it all works on the course. And if you've never been on a course, I would advise against going on a trip like this until you have. Some of it is just having something to relate to, i.e., hitting out of sand, chipping, putting, and the like. Welcome to the game, Michael. And if I may say so, your getting lessons from the start is the way to do it. I golfed for 25 years before i had a lesson, and you have no idea how much I wish I'd had a few lessons at the start. Bad habits and all that. :) Mike -- Mike Dalecki GCA Accredited Clubmaker http://clubdoctor.com RSG-Wisconsin 2006 Report http://dalecki.net/rsgwis2006/pics/ RSG-Wisconsin 2007: June 22-24----Lawsonia!

Florida gives you a higher probability of warm weather that time of year but Myrtle is closer you and it has a ton of golf courses. Otto

I meant APRIL, my wife tells me. We want to spend a week at a golf resort that would have a program for beginning golfers in April. Thanks! madl...@aol.com wrote: > My wife and I have been hitting at the driving range for about 6 weeks, > following 4 "introduction to golf" lessons in which we had a blast. > > We're looking to take a week's vacation in ch, and would like to go > to a golf resort (perhaps in the Carolinas, perhaps Florida, perhaps > somewhere else...we're in New York) where we could take a week of > lessons. They have 3, 4, and 5 day schools that seem to be aimed priily at begginer - intermediate. I went to one in Arizona some time ago, and it was WELL worth the money. There was in fact a ried couple in the class I attended. They have schools all around the country. www.jacobsgolf.com
