Vijay played almost perfect golf to notch up his 31st PGA victory. Only 4 players were under par and Vijay turned in a great round. The chip for a birdie on the second was just the appetizer. He had 4 more birdies on the front nine as the field started going back. The shot through the branch in the tree on the 12th was very gutsy, followed by a great read for a 20 foot + birdie. He was quite agressive on the 15th. With a 3 shot lead he teed with a driver. The amount of spin he put on the second set up a tap in birdie. All the other top players, Tiger, Els, Phil and Ernie, Sergio went South. Tiger and Sergio were the only ones in the hunt on the back nine. Tiger 3 putted for a double on the 11th. And he ended with a bogie, double and a triple on the last 3 holes. Sergio had bogies on the 14th and 15th and doubled the last. Vijay had such a big cushion that he cud afford bogies on 16th and 17th and still tied for the best round of the day with a 3 under par.

I didn't watch it. I spent a beautiful late winter day on the the golf course with my beautiful bride of 20+ years. The Bermuda is still dormant but the leaves on the trees are budding. Allergies are in full bloom. Thank god for 10mg Loratidine tabs. I like playing more than watching "another" pga event. A real major is a bit different. Otto

Now that VJ "The Man" wins one, you couldn't care less. You are NOT a true fan of golf!

I just generally like playing more than watching. It is why I don't like waiting for the cart riders. : >) Otto
