I thank Wadkins is doing much better job than Faldo
on the broadcasting things.

A distinction that no one from NYC would either make, nor
particularly
understand.

Rather, had a very strong Texas accent. He attempted to cover
it as best he could, but it was noticeable for anyone from NYC.

He only accepted the position on the condition that he be replaced
soon. His ratings were so good they would have left him there
indefinitely.

> so the people in charge now are all pure NYC.

Hardly. But more importantly, all the bias seems to be
coming from you. The distinctions you're making would be
foreign to the people you are claiming have bias.

Which of course explains why Rather, and most of his "Texas mafia"
were in charge of CBS news for so long.

Texas is Southwest, and none of them (Cronkite, Rather, or Schiefer) had a
southern accent. Besides, they are gone now (except for Schiefer who was
pushed aside), so the people in charge now are all pure NYC.

Too late, Mrs. Wadkins.

IMO, two British accents couln't make Faldo seem any ster. His lack
of education really
shows when he talks. Some of his sentences simply don't make sense.
Maybe that's why y'all like him. Transplanted southerner. :-} I much
prefer Wadkins. I might be prejudiced,
since Va. was my adopted home state for almost 30 years.

Faldo has proven himself to be more interesting to listen to than Wadkins
ever was in the tower.

Lanny was alright, but he was just too plain vanilla. Faldo will definitely
spice things up a bit.

And he certainly should have some interesting things to say on their Masters
coverage, having won the tournament 3 times.

Not too interesting, we hope, or he'll end up watching it on TV at Gary
McCord's house.

I hate Wadkins. I think he is an awful commentator I know commentators are
supposed to state obvious things for people that dont follow golf, but he
goes overboard with that obvious statements. I feel he says the same 5 or
6 things over and over again. Its like he's reading from a list and when
he's done with the list, he just starts over again and says the same things
over and over. With Miller, I can at least get a laugh here and there over
some of his comments. Great move by CBS to rid us of Wadkins.

Watkins is a southerner, and CBS is a New York City company. There is a lot
of discrimination against southerners in NYC.

In addition, Faldo has a British accent, which makes any person seem twice
as st to Americans as they really are.

A cultured accent like Peter Allis has, maybe. But Faldo sounds more
like Eliza Doolittle. He's got a much better sense of humor than
Lanny, though.

Faldo's sense of humor is not all that much to get worked up
about, but he'll be better than Wadkins. Where is our John
McEnroe? He's one of the best former pros I've ever heard in the
booth in any sport.

I was always a Lanny fan when he was on the golf course, but not in the
television booth. He never looked comfortable and the cocky-ness he
showed on the course just did not come thru over the tube. He looked
like Hillary Clinton at a NASCAR race most of the time...
